You can also do an internal transfer but it’s very difficult. NYC is the greatest city you can be in if you want an internship, and most of the big companies offer school-year internships. NYU also has great subway access, being close to 5 different subway lines, so you can really go anywhere in the city. If you go into CAS i would probably recommend to join a business fraternity or some type of professional organization (even Stern ones will usually let people in other schools join if you show interest). I was briefly considering an exchange program to a country that had no NYU campus, and it seemed like a nightmare in terms of applications and paperwork. Rather, you go to "NYU London." If you can go to either, I'm sure you will find success. There's also just a general feeling like "Where is my money going?" I have heard great things about NYU london! NYU Stern students start in the fall and study for two years. Both NYU and Columbia have new chairs, and Mount Sinai lost a few significant faculty (Flanagan is now the chair at NYU, Adam Stein is now the chair at LIJ). I was recommended by my advisor to just take one class in my major and three electives and it was the best decision I could have made. But the actual material itself is not crazy difficult. Cons are the facilities are not great and a bit outdated (its not a very pretty dorm) and its a tad far from campus but not too bad. The downside is that you won't have as many opportunities to meet locals through classes and stuff. I wouldn't say that there's grade deflation or inflation except for Stern. I've definitely had some duds in terms of classes and professors, but those have really been the minority in comparison to the amazing classes I've taken. Also, the professors would have to fit in a couple field trips during the semester, so you see a lot through the different field trips. I had class three days a week, so I had a five day weekend every week to just explore or relax or do whatever. I was hoping to be admitted to NYU Stern or NYU Abu Dhabi. There was a couple of finance bros but none of them were like assholes. Both NYU and Columbia run high-quality MBA courses.
